ABOUT US

NICHOLAS HONEYLION Owner / Arborist
Nicholas Honeylion is the owner and lead arborist of One Earth Tree Care. He grew up in rural Kitsap County, surrounded by forests and a deep love for the outdoors. His first experiences with plants came from gardening alongside his Japanese grandma, who taught him how to prune and care for trees with patience and attention. That early connection to plants and land care laid the foundation for the work he does today. Over the years, Nico developed a deep appreciation for Japanese gardening and pruning styles, which continue to influence his approach to tree care.

Nico has been gardening for over 25 years and working professionally with trees for the past 14. He earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Washington in 2012, with a focus on ecology, evolution, and conservation. He became an ISA Certified Arborist in 2015 and Tree Risk Assessment Qualified in 2019.

He enjoys every part of the job, from pruning to climbing to figuring out tricky technical removals. Whether it’s helping a tree recover, performing an exhilarating crane job, or restoring habitat, Nico finds meaning in helping people, trees, and ecosystems thrive together.

Outside of tree care, Nico is a dad to three wild and wonderful kids. He and his wife Montana, a clinical herbalist currently working toward her degree in therapy, are raising their family just a short walk from Indianola beach. You might find them down at the shore, fixing up their cabin, or heading out on a wilderness trip. In his 20s, Nico guided thousands of miles on trail, and he still finds solo time in the mountains to recharge. The forest has always felt like home, and that’s the spirit he brings into every job.
